4x Gilt-Leaf ArchdruidNamed after a song by the band Century, this deck is...terrible. I mean, sure I could go out of my way to try and build it better but I don't know that I should. Stealing people's lands is mean and yet, if I can get 7 druids out I feel like I ought to have won anyway. However, that's more the alternate win condition: The best thing to do is ramp up the mana, drop Regal Force or Kaysa or Kamahl early and swing. Another fun option: tap most lands with Kamahl out to turn them into creatures, Vitalize to untap everything and then dump a bunch of mana into the Overrun effect. It's so stupid it might work! Only thing to do now is give it a run and see how it does.

Oak God
I remember seeing Gilt-Leaf Archdruid back in the day and thinking: man, that's just so...lame. You play druids and steal lands and so what? Years pass and someone decides: you know what? Stealing everyone's lands is funny. It's so absurd that I decided I had to take my shot.

I say you splash blue for xenograft and make all your creatures honorary druids. Then some stupid green token-making BS and you'll have 7 druids (saprolings, spiders, whatever) in no time. If this broken interaction gets out, they'll have to ban the entire color green in standard, it'll be too powerful. Why do they bother printing any other creature type, anyways? Druids FTW, full stop.
ReplyDeleteYou have clearly forgotten about the best creature tribe ever.
DeleteWhat will you do about bears? WHAT WILL WE DO?
why not use Awakener Druid instead of Citanul Druid? what if you arent playing against any artifact a 4/5 treefolk beats a +1/+1 counter anytime.
ReplyDeletealso watch out for engineered plague or extinction and the likes
Citanul Druid is my concession to the Glory of Cool Things. I've had those cards for a few years and they've never seen anything but the binder. Why not put 'em to use! Plus, my meta does include a lot of artifacts, so anything I can do to integrate a solution like that without disrupting my plans is a good idea.
